At least 27 persons, including women and children, were burnt to death by a mob in Sadarpur village in Mehsana district of Gujarat, dominated by minority community members, as it set houses and shops afire last night, police said in Ahmedabad on Saturday. A mob from adjoining villages stormed Sardarpur, which has 250 to 300 residents and set houses and shops on fire by using gas cylinders, police said adding the exact number of casualties was yet to be ascertained. Earlier, police fired two rounds in the air to disperse the mob. But as soon as the police patrol left the village, the mob returned. Bureau Report
