Basti, Jan 13: BJP national general secretary Rajnath Singh today objected to the Kelkar Committee`s recommendation to impose a tax on agricultural income. Singh, who is the chairman of the party`s committee formed to go into the Kelkar recommendations, said he would submit his report before January 20.
In response to a separate question, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister told reporters that the Congress was trying to create a fear psychosis among the minority communities over the BJP`s definition of hindutva.
It had become necessary to expose the "pseudo-secularism" of the congress and some other parties, he said adding that communal riots were more frequent during the rule of Congress and the Samajwadi Party.
Singh also lambasted the Congress governments in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan for starvation deaths.
In reply to a question, he said that he would urge the Uttar Pradesh government to effectively plead in the Supreme Court the case of those selected in class three jobs in the state during his regime.
