Dawood gangsters deported from Dubai get PC till June 13
Mumbai, June 13: Riyaz Siddiqui and Rajkumar Sharma, alleged members of Dawood Ibrahim gang who were arrested in an extortion case on their deportation from Dubai a fortnight ago, were today remanded to police custody till June 17 by a magistrate here.
Mumbai, June 13: Riyaz Siddiqui and Rajkumar Sharma, alleged members of Dawood Ibrahim gang who were arrested in an extortion case on their deportation from Dubai a fortnight ago, were today remanded to police custody till June 17 by a magistrate here.
The two were arrested by Mumbai Police on their arrival at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport on May 30 and remanded to police custody till today.
The gangsters, suspected to be close associates of the underworld don, had fled to Dubai to help Dawood in managing underworld operations.
Police informed the court that Rajkumar Sharma conspired to murder rival gangster Ankush Satpute on December 18, 1991. Sharma, who fled to Dubai in 1996, had been charged with murder, kidnapping and issuing life threats.
Riyaz Siddiqui was also involved in a murder conspiracy. He is accused of killing Noor-ur-Ansari and his son Nasrul Ansari on November 4, 1996. After committing the crime, he too fled to Dubai. Six Dawood gangsters have been deported in the recent past. They are Majnu Mustafa, Ejaz Pathan, Imran Rehman Khan, Iqbal Kaskar, Mohammed Altaf and Anil Parab.
Pathan and Mustafa were involved in 1993 serial bomb blast case and facing trial under Tada, while Khan and Altaf are booked under Pota in connection with Ghatkopar blast case.
Iqbal Kaskar is facing charges of extortion and land grabbing, while Anil Parab is charged with murder of his own wife and a builder.
