Chhattisgarh by 15-6 15-6 while Abhin Shyam Gupta of railways
defeated Arup Baidya of railways 15-7 14-17 15-6.
J B Svidyadhar of Andhra Pradesh prevailed over Rohan Catelino of Karnataka 15-9 15-11 and Utsav Mishra of UP beat Anuj Gupta of Gujarat by 15-7 15-3.
Anup Shridhar of Karnataka beat Pallav Deka of Assam 17-4 15-5, Sachin Ratti of Punjab trounced Rupesh Kumar of Kerela by 15-4 15-2, Arvind Bhatt of Karnatka drubbed V Diju of Kerala 15-0 15-6. Sanave Thomas of Kerala beat M Ghatnekar (Mah) 5-0 (conceded).
In women's singles'-- first rounds railways stole the show when Poonam Tiwari beat Amanpreet Sethi of Gujarat 11-1 11-3 and Parul Rawat swamped Palkan Nagori 11-6 11-4.
