Derby (England), Aug 29: The Indian cricket team today sent a letter to the cricket board formalising its offer to play in next month`s Champions Trophy on certain conditions.
The letter, addressed to board president Jagmohan Dalmiya and signed by captain Sourav Ganguly, expressed the team`s willingness to play for the country but said the players` terms, as they exist now, were "unfair" and their interests had not been given sufficient weightage.
The letter reads: "Let us reiterate we that we are committed to play for our country. However, we find ourselves in a situation where the player terms that we are asked to sign at this late stage commercially affect us and result in a situation which has been brought about without consultation and with which we have serious issues.
"From the flow of events, it appears that IDI, GCC and Newscorp have signed the GCC agreement relating to the media and sponsorship rights contract on July 20, 2000.
