Aurangabad, Aug 25: Assailing the Congress-NCP led DF government in Maharashtra for its "intelligence failure", the newly-elected state unit chief of BJP, Gopinath Munde today demanded a CBI probe into the explosions that rocked Mumbai, claiming several lives. "The frequent blasts in the metropolis have clearly exposed the intelligence failure of the state government. It should seek a CBI probe into the explosions," he told reporters after taking over the mantle on the opening day of the two-day conclave of the party's state unit here.

The Centre has always shared its intelligence network with the state government, but the Congress-led DF government has "failed in gathering intelligence," Munde claimed.

Munde's reaction came as the news of series of explosions in Mumbai reached here.
Earlier, during his speech after he was declared the new president of the party's state unit, he lashed out at the state government for its "ineffectiveness in checking the nefarious activities of the anti-national elements."

The DF government has assumed the role of a "mute spectator," and anti-national activities of SIMI, terrorist outfits and Pakistan's ISI were on the rise, the BJP leader alleged.
