Jaipur, May 31: Criticising BJP chief Venkaiah Naidu for proposing construction of a mosque in Ayodhya, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Acharya Dharmendra today accused him of indulging in politics of Muslim appeasement. "The Ram bhakt workers of BJP should question their national president as to under which authority and with whose permission he issued the fatwa of constructing a new mosque in Ayodhya," Dharmendra told reporters.
He alleged the BJP leader was indulging in "competitive politics of Muslim appeasement". Dharmendra, a member of the Central Marg Darshak Mandal of VHP, accused chief ministers of Congress-ruled states of targeting Hindu workers by sending them to jails.
The actions of both BJP and Congress were danger signals for majority community in the country, he said. On Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee's move to normalise relations with Pakistan, the VHP leader said his “love and affection” for the enemy neighbour, despite bitter experiences of the past, was not in the national interest.
He asked people to vote only for those who support ram temple in Ayodhya and common civil code. Bureau Report
