Railway fares are to be hiked, now it is almost for sure as the Railway ministry has decided to impose ‘railway safety surcharge’ on the passengers.
The Railway ministry has forwarded a proposal to the Finance ministry for the imposition of ‘railway safety surcharge’.
According to the Rail minister Nitish Kumar “ the ‘railway safety surcharge’ imposed on the passengers will be contributed on behalf of the railways to the seventeen crore worth ‘Railway safety fund’, which will ultimately lead to better security and facilities for the rail passengers.
