A BSF jawan opened fire from his service weapon at the platform after an altercation with his company commandant, killing a soldier of the force and another of the railway protection special force on the spot, they said.
The company commandant, Tulsi Das (DYSP), who disarmed the accused was critically wounded, the sources said, adding another RPSF jawan was also injured in the incident.
Several companies are arriving here daily as part of the security cover for the forthcoming assembly polls.
