New Delhi, Nov 12: The filing of nominations for the December 1 assembly elections in four states gained momentum today with over 1,100 candidates including BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate in Delhi M L Khurana, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Ministers Subhash Yadav and several ministers filing their papers. With just two days left for the nomination process to close, the maximum 513 candidates filed their papers in Madhya Pradesh where Deputy Chief Minister Subhash Yadav filed nomination from Kasarwad in Khargone district. The total number of nominations in the state has reached 837. Jogi was among the 176 nominees who filed their papers in Chhattisgarh, taking the total number of nominees in the state since Friday last to 317. The highest number of 27 nominations including that of Jogi was reported from Bilaspur, followed by 26 from Durg In Rajasthan five Congress ministers were among the 402 candidates who filed their papers taking the total nominations so far to 587.
Home Minister G S Shaktawat, Industry Minister Chandrabhan, Ayurved Minister Radhey Shyam Ganganagar, several sitting MLAs and BJP candidates including Mahendra Singh Jhabhak, contesting against Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot from Sardarpura, filed their papers.
Delhi BJP President Khurana (Moti Nagar) and BJP MP Kirti Azad's wife Poonam from Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's Gole Market seat were among the scores of candidates who filed their papers in the capital.
