Surat, Oct 25: Union Rural Development Minister Kashiram Rana expressed deep sorrow over the death of noted social reformer Pandurang Shastri Athavale today. In his condolence message, Rana said Athavale's tireless service to uplift the mankind in any odd circumstances helped prepare a civlised cadre from young to old who were conscious about the social life.
His passing away is a great loss to the nation, he added.
