Lucknow, Feb 05: At 42, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council member Munnavar Hassan claims a feat worthy of a Guinness entry. The MLC claims to being the youngest politician who has held the membership of both Houses of Parliament and the state legislature.
Hassan, who was elected on a Samajwadi Party (SP) to the local body in December last, said he was approaching the Guinness Book of World Records officials to have his 'feat' registered.
''I am perhaps the only person in the country who has been a member of the Lok Sabha, the Rajya Sabha, the state legislative assembly and now the Legislative Council (LC),'' he claimed.

In 1991, Hassan entered the legislative assembly by defeating former minister and BJP heavyweight Hukum Singh from Kairana assembly seat. He repeated his victory in 1993.
In 1996, he entered the Lok Sabha for the first time when he defeated BSP's Udayveer Singh.
Hassan entered the Rajya Sabha in 1998, and finally the state Legislative Council in December, 2003. He took the oath as member of the House here on Monday.
