Jamshedpur, June 27: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) would contest the forthcoming assembly polls in Delhi and Chattisgarh with the aim of expanding the party at the national level. JMM leader Sibu Soren told reporters the party was yet to decide the number of seats it would contest and whether it would forge alliance with any like-minded parties. "Our purpose is to expand party base in the states where Tribals form a sizeable section of the population" Soren said, pointing out that in several states tribal populace were subjected to exploitation on all fronts including social, political and economic. The party would discuss its electoral strategy at the three-day convention of JMM`s central committee which began here last night, Soren said.

The JMM has five MLAs in Orissa and two councillors in Delhi, Soren said.

The JMM formed its Delhi unit on June 20 last and the ad hoc committee was being headed by JMM councillor Dayanand Chandela, Soren said.
Party leaders have toured tribal-dominated places of several states including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Assam to assess the party prospect, he said.
