Jaipur, Aug 23: Favouring enactment of a legislation to guarantee employment for all, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has said that Congress would seriously consider inclusion of the issue in its election manifesto for the coming assembly polls. The state government favours enactment of employment guarantee law and is making all efforts for it, Gehlot assured a delegation of Rajasthan Drought Action Committee led by Magsaysay award winner Aruna Roy which met him here yesterday.
"Congress was seriously considering inclusion of this issue in its election manifesto," he was quoted as saying by a release of the committee here today.
The Chief Minister said the employment guarantee law should be enacted not only in Rajasthan but in the whole country to help people.
The delegation submitted a memorandum demanding enactment of employment guarantee legislation, continuation of drought relief works till kharif crops mature, making the right to information law more effective and necessary action for correcting electoral rolls in the state. Bureau Report
