Bangalore, Sept 28: Ignoring the outbursts of his counterpart Jayalalithaa in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka chief minister S M Krishna today declined to react to her sharp attacks on the issues of Cauvery and Nagappa kidnap crisis that have strained relations between the two states. "Offering instant reactions on the style of functioning of another chief minister and on their actions is not only not in good taste, but also amounts to casting a reflection", was Krishna's refrain during an informal chat with reporters here.
When a scribe queried on Jayalalithaa's remarks that cooperation from Karnataka was not forthcoming in nabbing forest brigand Veerappan and her action in preventing the visit of the Cauvery monitoring committing to Mettur, he said, "since I don't want to cast any reflection on my Tamil Nadu counterpart, I have opted not to react so far".
Krishna said the Cauvery issue has turned "highly complex" after it entered the portals of Supreme Court. We have lot of respect for courts".
Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee directed the monitoring committee to visit both states for an on the spot study of the situation at the September 21 cauvery river Authority meeting in New Delhi.
"The decisions that are arrived at a meeting with the prime minister's intervention shall not become a topic for debate in public and it shall not be indulged in too", Krishna felt. Bureau Report
