Kolkata, Dec 20: A hurriedly convened meeting of the cricket board here today is in the process of deliberating its next course of action as the controversial ICC contract issue reached a flash point after months of negotiations failed.
The board president Jagmohan Dalmiya with secretary S K Nair and a number of top officials went into a huddle at a five star hotel from morning to finalise the board`s response to a clear warning from the International Cricket Council.
The London-based world cricket governing body last evening announced a final offer on the contentious players terms for the next World Cup, warning BCCI that it should accept it and ensure that its best team took part in World Cup or face huge damage claims.

The negotiations between the two sides came to a dead end when a tele-conference among six members of the high powered ICC panel involving Dalmiya last afternoon failed to resolve the issue.

In view of the sudden development, today`s meeting was called in a hurry and 12 to 14 top board officials attending it, according to BCCI sources.
The deliberations of the meeting is expected to take up the entire day before a stand is announced in the evening, the sources said.
