Vadodara, Sept 14: A Pakistani delegation is expected to visit Gujarat later this month to discuss issues relating to release of 93 Pakistani fishermen at present in jails in the state.
A message about the visit has been received here from Veljibhai Masni, leader of the Indian delegation of the National Fishermen Association and director of Fisheries Development Board, camping in Karachi in Pakistan.
The Indian team was in Pakistan since July 27 in connection with the release of Indian fishermen there. In his message to staff at Mangrol town in Saurashtra, Masani said the Pakistani delegation would include five members and is expected to reach Mumbai on September 20 and then to reach Okha on September 21.
The team may visit Jamnagar "depending on the situation," Shaikh said, adding some Pakistani fishermen are in Jamnagar.
The five boats owned by these Pakistani fishermen have been anchored at Okha Port, Shaikh said. After arrival of the Pakistani delegation, an official from the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi is also expected to visit Gujarat to enable issue of temporary visas to Pakistani fishermen, Shaikh said.
