Jammu, Sept 07: The People's Conference led by Sajjad Gani Lone today called for the intervention of an international organisation like the UN to make India and Pakistan resolve the Kashmir issue.
"India and Pakistan have failed their own people in all spheres. How can we expect them to deliver on resolution of Kashmir issue," lone said addressing a party workers' gathering here.
He said Kashmir was becoming an "excuse" for violence whose ramifications can be felt outside Jammu and Kashmir. "The international community should and has to intervene," he said, however, making it clear that he was not seeking any international force in the valley but favoured "facilitation" of talks between India and Pakistan by the UN or countries nominated by it.
