Chennai Oct 05: Tamil Nadu government, which had demanded the removal of MDMK leader M Kannappan from the Vajpayee ministry, today said it had “deferred” its decision to invoke the provisions of Pota against him. Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa told reporters here after a cabinet meeting that “no decision was taken on the matter at the meeting”.
She said she had, through her letter to the Prime Minister A B Vajpayee, had apprised him about everything on the issue.
“We are awaiting reply from him,” she said.
Asked for comments on the reports that the Prime Minister had referred the matter to the Union Law Ministry, she said, “I do not know any thing about it. I have released to the press the letter written to the Prime Minister,” she said. Bureau Report
