Assuring full security, Manipur Governor Ved Marwah appealed to the people who left homes and their places of work during the anti-ceasefire agitation to return and resume normal life. The situation is fast returning to normal and the age-old tradition of amity among all the ethnic groups should not be disturbed, he said in a statement. The government would take all possible steps to provide security and to bring peace and normalcy in Manipur, he said. Marwah conveyed his appreciation to the people in both hill and valley areas for maintaining peace and communal harmony during the recent turmoil. Not a single instance of communal violence had taken place in any part of the state, which proved the sagacity and wisdom of the Manipuri people, he said, adding that they should be complimented for this display of tolerance and communal harmony.
