New Delhi, Sept 17: A day after additional sessions Judge (ASJ) V K Jain declined to hear Nitish Katara murder case involving Rajya Sabha MP D P Yadav's son and nephew, Delhi and sessions judge today transferred it to the court of ASJ S N Dhingra, who is also trying the Parliament attack case.

Following the order passed by the district and sessions Judge J P Singh, the case would come up for hearing before ASJ Dhingra at Patiala house tomorrow. D P Yadav's son Vikas and nephew Vishal are accused of kidnapping business executive Nitish Katara from a marriage party in Ghaziabad and then murdering him in February last. Vikas is also facing trial in the Jessica Lal murder case.

Only yesterday ASJ Jain, before whom the case was listed following a Supreme Court direction transferring it from Ghaziabad to Delhi, had sent it back to the district judge saying it would not be appropriate for him to hear the case as the counsel of one of the accused is reportedly related to him. Jain had on September 13 directed Dasna Jail authority in Ghaziabad to produce Vikas and Vishal before him on September 20. But the UP Police brought the accused yesterday and produced them before the district judge who asked them to appear before Jain at Patiala House.

After a brief hearing, Jain had remanded the accused to a day's judicial custody and directed the authorities to produce them before the district judge today for transfer of the case to some other court. The Supreme Court had on August 23 transferred the case from Ghaziabad to Delhi on a petition by the victim's mother Neelam Katara. The UP Police had chargesheeted Vikas and Vishal in April last, but the apex court had stayed the trial proceedings.
