New Delhi, June 23: A day after his visit to Agra, culture minister Jagmohan today asked the Uttar Pradesh government to "undo" the damage caused near the world heritage sites of Taj and Agra Fort due to the construction at the river-bed and said the Centre will wait for the state government's inquiry report before taking further steps. "I have asked the state government to undo the damage done by the construction," Jagmohan said, adding the state government has also ordered an inquiry as asked by the Centre into the construction.

"Let's wait for the inquiry report and then the further action will be decided," the minister said when asked if the Centre was contemplating any action against the state government for undertaking such construction.

Reiterating that the construction was in violation of law, he said, "The detailed technical project report (DTPR) appears to be a product of great hurry and prepared without any adequate study and consideration."
Clarifying that he did not "skip" the site in question as some of the media reports suggested, Jagmohan said "I saw the 'project' site from high points, both from Taj and Agra Fort. All the contours of what has been done under the 'project' are clearly visible from these points. It is, therefore, not quite correct to say that I skipped the site."
