Bangalore, Aug 27: Former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Kailash Joshi has been appointed as president of the party's Madhya Pradesh unit in place of Vikram Verma, who has joined the union cabinet.
While making the announcement here today, BJP national president Venkaiah Naidu said Verma's resignation from the post has been accepted and he has been asked to continue till Joshi takes over later this week.
Asked about union minister for coal Uma Bharti's name being suggested for the post, Naidu said he had never said she would be appointed there.
He also ruled out changing the president of the party's Karnataka unit Basavaraj Patil Sedam, saying there was no question of that and nobody has made such a demand.
