Anand holds Kramnik to a draw
Dortmud, Aug 10: After three successive victories, former world champion Viswanthan Anand drew with strong contender Vladimir Kramnik of Russia in an interesting 8th round match of the Dortmund Sparkassen Chess meeting.

Tournament leader Grandmaster Viktor Bologan of Moldova settled for an early truce with Linares Champion Peter Leko of Hungary to maintain his full point lead over Kramnik and Anand.
With just two more rounds remaining in this category 18 tournament that is being played in double round-robin format, Bologan has 5.5 points in his bag while Anand and Kramnik have 4.5 points each.
Placed third is youngest participant GM Teimour Radjabov, 16, of Azerbaijan who scored a fluent victory over local hope Arkadi Naiditsch.
Radjabov took his score to 4 points and is followed by Linares Champion Peter Leko of Hungary who is on 3 points. German Arkadi Naiditsch, the lowest rated player of the event, has 2.5 points.
The tournament might just take a big swing in the next two rounds when Bologan plays with Radjabov with white and Kramnik with black pieces.
According to chess pundits, Kramnik is not going to leave any stone unturned in this game as it would be his only chance to catch up with the leader.
The same holds true for Anand as he plays his final white in the tournament against Naiditsch. The Indian ace had earlier staged a strong comeback, scoring a brilliant victory over the German hope. Bureau Report
