Justice Anand selected for National Law Day Award
New Delhi, Nov 26: Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission and former Chief Justice A S Anand will be conferred with the National Law Day Award by Indian Council of Jurists (ICJ) for his contributions to the development of human rights concept.

Rights Commission and former Chief Justice A S Anand will be
conferred with the National Law Day Award by Indian Council of
Jurists (ICJ) for his contributions to the development of
human rights concept.
Justice Anand has been selected for the prestigious award
for his contribution to the development of the concept of
human rights and their protection and for effective changes in
the legal system for fair and fast dispensation of justice,
ICJ said in a release today.
Others conferred with award for their contributions in different fields of law are former Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court J P Mishra, Additional Solicitor General Mukul Rohtagi, eminent Jurist Anil Diwan, corporate law expert Shardul S Shroff and senior criminal lawyer U R Lalit.
Lata Krishnamurthy has been selected for the award for her contributions for women's right laws while Manoj Goel has been chosen as the most promising young lawyer. Babu Ram Tiwari, executive committee vice president of Bar Council of India, has been selected for the award for his contribution in the field of legal education. Bureau Report
