The special court, hearing the Ayodhya demolition cases, had earlier announced that the video tapes would be screened in the court room but as the proceedings began today, the judge ordered the screening of the video tapes in his chamber.
Only the lawyers of the concerned parties were allowed inside.
The judge said the chamber was also part of the court and besides there was not enough space in the courtroom for the screening.
The CBI had introduced these video tapes as part of evidence in the Ayodhya demolition case in which deputy prime minister L K Advani, Union HRD minister M M Joshi and BJP leader Uma Bharati are among the eight accused being tried by the special court here.
