Advani ignorant of Modi claim on Godhra conspiracy
Bhopal, Nov 20: Two days after Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi claimed that conspiracy for Godhra carnage was hatched in Madhya Pradesh, Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today expressed ignorance about the same and said an inquiry was still on into the incident.

"Where the Godhra conspiracy was hatched ... Inquiry is
still on and let it be completed," advani told reporters here.
"I can only say there are specific reports of Madhya Pradesh not providing police assistance sought by Gujarat government during communal violence in the state," he said.
The Deputy Prime Minister said he was aware of the fact that at that time, Gujarat government needed support and had sought security forces from the Centre which it was provided in order to enable the administration restore normalcy.
"Gujarat government had also asked the neighbouring Madhya Pradesh to provide police force for dealing with the situation but no such assistance was made available," he said.
"I can only say there are specific reports of Madhya Pradesh not providing police assistance sought by Gujarat government during communal violence in the state," he said.
