Islamabad, Dec 12: The Asian Development Bank today approved loans totaling USD 220 million to improve education, health, water and sanitation in Pakistan's southern province of Sindh. Sindh has the lowest per capita spending on social services of Pakistan's four provinces, and half of Sindh's population lives in poverty, said a statement issued by the bank's mission in Islamabad.
The low-interest loan package also supports efforts to devolve responsibility for social services to local government, the statement said. Bureau Report
