Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 13: Kerala would oppose plans to link rivers originating from the Western Ghats as part of the Centre's ambitious river inter-linking project, state irrigation minister T M Jacob told the assembly today. The state has asked the Centre to call a Chief Ministers' meet before drawing up the "river-garlanding project", Jacob said during question hour. As far as Kerala was concerned, inter-linking of Western Ghats rivers sounded "unscientific", he said, adding the state would oppose the proposal to inter-connect the Pampa, the Achankovil and the Vypar.
