Chennai, July 30: Tamil Nadu unit of the CPI today
demanded an urgent session of the Tamil Nadu assembly to
discuss the 'unprecedented' situation prevailing in the state
due to various factors, including the government
administration coming to a 'standstill.'
CPI legislature party leader G Palanisamy, in a letter to
the Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, said most of the government
employees, who were dismissed, were yet to be reinstated,
leading to a standstill in the administration.
The state was reeling under severe drought and drinking
water shortage, he alleged adding that due to the government
employees strike, many benefits, which should have reached the
poor, were yet to reach them.
Under these circumstances, Tamil Nadu assembly should be convened to discuss these issues, he said.
