Hazare, Jain insist on different bodies for inquiry
Mumbai, Aug 10: The fast-unto-death undertaken by noted Gandhian Anna Hazare and Maharashtra Minister Sureshdada Jain for their respective demands today gave indications of not getting over soon with both insisting for different bodies to inquire on the corruption charges levelled against each other while continuing their allegations.
Hazare, among other demands, reiterated the demand of CBI
inquiry instead through a retired high court judge for
bringing truth in front of the public.
The Maharashtra Minister instead alleged Hazare for back tracking from his earlier admission for a inquiry through a retired judge and insisted for a CID inquiry.
Jain said "Hazare was given a `supari' by BJP to defame the NCP in assurance of gifting him a autonomous body."
The leader was afraid that he would get exposed and lose out in public, if the inquiry was conducted by retired judge, the Minister said.
Jain said Hazare's insistence for a CBI inquiry was due to his confidence of getting a clean chit through the help of BJP-led government at the Centre.
Both, Jain and Hazare began their fast-unto-death yesterday at the Azad Maidan in south Mumbai turning the historical place a virtual battlefield to press for their respective demands. Bureau Report
