Ranveer Singh talks about love amid speculation of breakup with Deepika Padukone
Surprisingly, at a time when rumour mills are working overnight, Ranveer Singh spoke about love but said that it`s tough for him to articulate the feeling.
Mumbai: Speculations are rife that one of Bollywood’s hottest and happening couples – Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh – has called it quits. Though the two had never admitted to being in love with each other, their PDA narrated a different story.
Surprisingly, at a time when rumour mills are working overnight, Ranveer spoke about love but said that it’s tough for him to articulate the feeling.
"Love is not just an emotion. Love is a concept that artistes time immemorial have tried to express, understand, comprehend, experience, articulate but till date it's not ever been understood or explained.”
"Love has to do with one's soul. I believe we all have a soul in all of us. Love is loosely thrown around, but it's a big thing. When you love someone, it is absolute purity. I always struggle to articulate what love feels like. But, it's about a connection of souls," Ranveer told PTI.
Interestingly, Ranveer, who has spent about six years in the film industry so far has had a fair share of link-ups. He was previously believed to be in a relationship with his ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ co-star Anushka Sharma and ‘Lootera’ actress Sonakshi Sinha.
"When you are a professional actor, then by default you are a public figure. I have faced a lot of scrutiny about my personal life. There have been instances in my earlier years in the showbiz where I used to be perturbed, but I don't anymore."
The actor said he is now mature enough to take all the scrutiny and has understood that people have short affiliation with reports on personal life of celebrities.
"I now have the maturity to understand that it comes with the territory. I don't let it affect me because I know now that public memory is short. Therefore, the effect should be in limited capacity. I don't get fazed by the scrutiny. It does gets irritating but not catastrophic."
Ranveer is now gearing up for his next release ‘Befikre’ opposite Vaani Kapoor, a carefree romantic tale directed by Aditya Chopra.
