Hydearbad, Nov 23: An accused in the Sai Baba temple blast case was killed in an encounter with police in neighbouring Rangareddy district on Friday night, a senior police official said here on Saturday. Mohammad Azam, allegedly responsible for the blast at the temple on the city outskirts two days back, was killed at Parvatipuram under Uppal police station, District Superintendent of Police M V Ramchandra Raju said.
Azam was picked up here on Friday and was taken to Parvatipuram area after he confessed that he had kept some explosives, Raju said. While taking out the explosives hidden in bushes, Azam took out his revolver and opened fire at police, prompting them to retaliate and killing him on the spot, Raju added.
