Ruling out alliance with any party in next assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, the Congress on Tuesday expressed confidence that it would form next governments on its own in the two states. “We are going it alone both in UP and Uttaranchal in the next assembly elections. Be it Samajwadi party or BSP, there is no alliance with any party,” AICC Secretary Subodhkant Sahay told reporters in Dehradun.
When asked whether the party would project any one as the Chief Minister before the elections in Uttaranchal, Sahay replied in negative. “It is our tradition that a Chief Minister is elected by the Congress legislature party.”
He urged the election commission to be on the guard against what he termed the RSS move to delete names of people belonging to weaker sections and minorities from the voters list. Bureau Report
