Himachal govt will insist on jobs for locals: Minister
Shimla, July 28: Himachal Pradesh Industries Minister R L Thakur said today the government would not compromise on the `employment clause` that has been introduced to get more jobs to the people of the state.
Shimla, July 28: Himachal Pradesh Industries Minister R L Thakur said today the government would not compromise on the "employment clause" that has been introduced to get more jobs to the people of the state.
The new package of incentives would be available only to those industrial units which employed 80 per cent Himachalis in backward areas and 65 per cent Himachalis in other areas, he said here today.
He said that reputed industrial houses were coming to Himachal for setting up units and plots had already been allotted to Wipro, Colgate, Godrej and Bajaj Industries at Baddi Industrial Complex in Solan district. Dr Reddy's Lab, had also been given clearance and Sonalika Tractors was also in the process being allowed to set up two-wheeler manufacturing unit, he added.
He said the industry department had received 687 applications for setting up industrial units in Baddi Industrial Area. He said that some industrial houses had also agreed to sponsor sports. Bureau Report
