ONGC says it has not defaulted in PF remittance to EPFO
New Delhi, Aug 28: State-run Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) on Thursday said it not defaulted in its statutory contributions to Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
New Delhi, Aug 28: State-run Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) on Thursday said it not defaulted in its statutory contributions to Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
"ONGC maintains the Provident Fund Accounts of its employees in an independent trust approved by the Regional Provident Fund Commission and recognised by the income tax department. There is no default whatsoever in ONGC's statutory contributions," the company said on Thursday.
Labour Minister Sahib Singh Verma had on August 22 stated that ONGC, IOC, Bhel, HMT and Maruti were among the prominent defaulters in remitting their PF share to the Employees Provident Fund Organisation.
"There is only one case, ONGC was served notice by RPFC, Kanpur on March 4, 1996 for non-subsmission of returns and non-enrolment of contractors' employees as PF members, involving an amount of Rs 108.80 lakh. This matter is lying before the Uttaranchal High Court," ONGC added. Bureau Report
