Bhopal, Sept 14: Refuting the charge of bomb-making levelled against it by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, RSS today hit back and alleged that the Congress-ruled state is linked with many "violent terrorist incidents" and the allegation against the Sangh is to divert people's attention.
Accusing Singh of hatching a "conspiracy" against RSS, its spokesman Ram Madhav told reporters here, "It is laughable on the part of the Chief Minister to make such charges at a time when people find connections between recent terrorist acts and Madhya Pradesh. It is like "ulta chor kotwal ko dantein".
Madhav claimed that fearing "imminent defeat" of Congress in the coming assembly elections, Singh is levelling "wild allegations" against the Sangh in a bid to divert people's attention from his government's failure and real issues like the need to put the state on the path of progress. "The Chief Minister has not yet been able to prove the charge of explosive-making. This shows the allegation against RSS is false and baseless," he said.
Branding Digvijay regime as "anti-tribal and anti-Hindu", Madhav claimed a careful analysis of controversial Bhojshala issue and Ganjbasoda cow slaughter incident as also the Jhabua nun rape case showed "Hindus had been made to suffer".
On the other hand, he alleged, minorities were being rewarded despite being involved in "crimes like cow slaughter". On Ayodhya issue, he said political parties and different sections in society should strive for a consensus in the wake of the findings of Archaeological Survey of India about existence of a temple beneath the demolished structure.
