Imphal, Dec 22: Separatist Manipur People's Liberation Front has called a 12-hour general strike in the state tomorrow to express solidarity with Ulfa, NDFB and KLO against whom army operations are on in Bhutan. Expressing solidarity with the insurgent outfits, MPLF, in a statement here today accused the Royal Bhutan Army of violating international laws.
The strike would begin from 6 am, the statement said.
A caller who identified himself as MPLF spokesman to the local media said all markets and business establishments would be closed during the strike.
Even essential services like water supply, electricity or medical services would not be spared from the strike purview.
Official sources said security measures would be intensified and forces deployed at all vulnerable points during the strike. Bureau Report
