Guwahati, Jan 11: Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi today said the state government was ready to include additional villages having more than 50 per cent of Bodo population in the proposed Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC). The chief minister told this to a delegation of Bodo leaders who met him here, an official spokesman said.
Gogoi said of the 93 additional villages demanded by the Bodos to be included in the proposed BTC, the government had no objection even if they have less than half of Bodo population provided they are continuous with the BTC area.
The leaders who met Gogoi included Pramila Rani Brahma, Biswajit Daimary and Hemendra Nath Brahma, all MLAs. Bureau Report
