NY, Nov 04: Teenage rapper Dizzee Rascal (real name: Dylan Mills) will see his debut album, "Boy in Da Corner," released in North America in January by Matador/XL Recordings.
The set won the U.K.'s prestigious Mercury Music Prize in September.
XL international director Paul Redding told Billboard recently that "We wanted to build the story in the U.K. first, and we just started doing our international promotion last week, but obviously the Mercury prize will help us get better press. It's a great boost."
Rascal's latest single, "Fix Up, Look Sharp," debuted at No. 17 on the U.K. singles tally in August. The next single from the album, "Jus a Rascal," is due later this month.
The artist also appears on the track "Lucky Star" from U.K. dance duo Basement Jaxx's "Kish Kash," released last month by Astralwerks.
