New Delhi, Apr 22: The Ministry of Finance and Company Affairs has no proposal to set up a media cell of its own and the Indian information service officers in the Press Information Bureau are fully capable to do the job, Rajya Sabha was informed today. Asked whether the ministry has decided to set up a media cell of its own, Minister of State for Finance and Company Affairs, Anadrao V Adsul replied in the negative, adding "the IIS officers posted in the PIB are fully capable and qualified to do the job".
He said RBI has instructed all commercial banks to do away with stapling of fresh/re-issuable/non-issuable note packets and instead secure these with paper bands.
In reply to another question, Minister of State for Finance, Gingee N Ramachandran said 16 states including Haryana will introduce value added tax from June 1 this year.
