Jaipur, Apr 12: Vowing a "fight to the finish" in the coming assembly elections, Rajasthan BJP chief Vasundhara Raje today said the "Congress citadel" would be demolished in the state and criticised the government for banning 'trishul diksha'. "Whatever difficult situation the future brings up, I assure you that with the help of disciplined party cadre I shall try to bring the BJP back to power," Raje told the first meeting of her new working committee here. She said people of the state were now awaiting the assembly elections to get rid of the Ashok Gehlot government, which, she alleged, has made their lives miserable.
Raje alleged that the Congress, "intoxicated with its brute majority in the assembly," had pushed the state into financial, administrative and social mess by pursuing wrong policies. She also criticised the recent notification of the state government banning 'trishul diksha'. Raje described the raids on VHP offices in Ajmer to seize tridents as "persecution."
"The action of the Gehlot government has hurt the feelings of crores of people and we will formulate our response while discussing party's plans and strategy for coming assembly polls," she added. Bureau Report
