Jaipur, May 10: The cyclonic storm over Arabian Sea, 270 km south of the coastal town of Veraval in Saurashtra region of Gujarat, could cause heavy rains in southern region of Rajasthan in the next 24 hours, a Met official said today. The cyclone could weaken over the desert state but the rains would occur in Udaipur and Jodhpur divisions covering Banswara, Dungarpur, Chittorgarh, Jodhpur, Jalore, Barmer and Pali cities, the official told news agencies here.
Due to existing cyclone the low pressure area would be created in the state leading to rains, he said.

However, severe heat wave conditions would prevail in rest of the state including Jaipur, Ajmer, Alwar and Kota districts where mercury could touch 40-43 degree celsius.
