Basti, Feb 11: Congress president Sonia Gandhi today completed her three-day long hurricane ‘Poorvanchal Kissan Chetna Yatra’ countering the BJP's ''feel good'' factor before the Lok Sabha elections. The AICC president on the last day of her tour addressed over ten roadside meetings at Siddharthanagar, Bansi, Dumeriaganj and Basti covering around 100 km.

In her speech, Sonia criticised the Central Government for lack of developmental projects in the eastern parts of the state and even raised concern on the problems of the sugarcane farmers.

During her road show, the congress leader interacted with the villagers and listened to their grievances. She also promised to fulfill the people's demands, if here party came to power at the Centre.
She called upon the people to vote for her party in the coming Lok Sabha polls ''to save the country'' and ''teach a lesson'' to the BJP. Sonia rubbished the ''feel good'' claim of the BJP and said that the Vajpayee government had launched a campaign to mislead the people with false claims of prosperity in the country.

Sonia said that poverty was apparent and widespread in the region. ''Now the only option before the people is to elevate the Congress to power with the unified efforts of all and teach BJP a lesson,'' she added.
Like yesterday, Sonia stopped at various villages across the bumpy tracks of 'Poorvanchal' (Eastern UP) today even as she took on the public address system to come down heavily on the NDA for its ''overall failure''.

Sonia made several halts to interact with people standing on roadsides to have her glimpse.

After the January 10-12 whirlwind tour of western up bordering Delhi, this was the second visit of Sonia to the state which started on February 9.
The Congress president is slated to fly back to New Delhi this evening.
