Brescia, July 13: Italian veteran soccer star Roberto Baggio will keep on playing with Brescia in the Italian Serie A next season. Baggio, who considered retirement after being dropped from Italy's World Cup team, overcame disappointment for the missed trip to South Korea and Japan and is going to sign a two-year contract extension with Brescia, club president Gino Corioni said today.

"Baggio's future is in Brescia. When he quits as a player he will stay with us as club official," Corioni said.

Baggio, who helped Brescia escape relegation last season by scoring decisive goals on his return from a knee injury, was set to sign the new contract over the weekend, club officials reported. Bureau Report
