India on Monday said that it was yet to receive a satisfactory response from Pakistan on its demand for handing over of 20 terrorist and criminals based in that country. This was stated by an external affairs ministry spokesperson when her comments were sought on the statement of Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf in the US last week rejecting New Delhi's demand.
“We still await action from Pakistan. So far we haven't received a satisfactory response,” she said adding that India has unambiguously made its position clear.
Replying to questions on the arrest of Omar Saeed Sheikh by Pakistani authorities in connection with the kidnapping of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, the spokesperson said that there has been no official contact between New Delhi and Islamabad on Sheikh who was released from Tihar Jail in New Delhi during the hijacking of an Indian Airlines plane to Kandahar in December 1999.
