Nagpur, June 08: Maharashtra government has relaxed labour laws in the industrial estate at Butibori near here to attract investments in textile industries, according to state Labour Minister Satish Chaturvedi.
Necessary orders have been issued by the government
recently to fulfil promises made during `Advantage Nagpur'
seminar sometime back, Chaturvedi told reporters yesterday.
The Rs 17 crore textile zone at Butibori would be developed over 250 acres of land at Butibori's industrial estate with no changes on safety norms, the senior Congress leader said, adding interests of labourers would be protected.
The government is in the process of giving approval to the `special economic zone' status to Butibori shortly to further attract industries there, he said.
On the proposed international passenger and cargo hub project in city, Chaturvedi, accompanied by city Congress MP Vilas Muttemwar, said all impediments such as payment of compensation to the land owners for acquiring land, would be removed to enable the prestigious project to sail through.
To a question, he categorically dismissed requirement of an environmental clearance since the airport is already operative and wide-bodied aircraft for Haj flights had operated early this year.
Government has also agreed in principle to construct a new state of art hospital involving private participation at the TB hospital in south city area on its vacant land, he added.
