Jaipur, Sept 18: Normal life in Hadoti region of Rajasthan remained paralysed for the second consecutive day today day following a Bajrang Dal-VHP sponsored bandh, a spokesman of the district administration said. The bandh was called to protest Monday's police firing in which 16 activists of the outfits were injured at Aklera.
Prohibitory orders under 144 of Cr.PC have been promulgated as a precautionary measure in Jhalawar, BJP state president Vasundhra Raje's parliamentary constituency, the spokesman said.
The bandh evoked cent per cent response in Kota city, Baran, Jhalarapatan and Aklera with the business establishments remaining closed and public transport badly hit, organisers said.
At Khanpur, hundreds of BJP-VHP activists put up road blocks on the Kota-Jhalawar highway, but no untoward incident was reported from anywhere, district administration spokesman said.
