New Delhi, Apr 14: Senior Congress leader Motilal Vora today dismissed as "baseless and politically motivated" UP chief minister Mayawati's charge that he had "misused" the discretionary fund when he was state governor. "I have not misused the discretionary fund and the money disbursed to various institutions and individuals through the fund was by cheques and demand drafts which were routed through the district magistrates," Vora, who is also AICC treasurer and in charge of party affairs in UP, told reporters.
Addressing the BSP's "pardafash" rally in Lucknow, Mayawati had announced that she had ordered an inquiry into the "misuse" of the discretionary fund by Vora who, she alleged, distributed around Rs 18 crore during his brief stint in Raj Bhawan.
