New Delhi, July 19: Congress President Sonia Gandhi today flagged off fifty truck loads of wheat as relief material for drought-striken Rajasthan. Today's despatch carrying 4,50,000 kg of wheat was the second installment to the drought-affected state as the party had sent 9,00,000 kg earlier. The relief material was collected by the youth Congress workers during its month-long door-to-door campaign in the neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana. Gandhi's political secretary Ahmed Patel, AICC General Secretaries Ambika Soni, Mukul Vasnik and Indian Youth Congress President Randeep Surajewala were among those present on the occasion. Later talking to reporters, Surajewala accused the BJP-led ruling NDA at the Centre of discriminating against the Congress-ruled states.

"BJP is hell bent on playing the political card. They have adopted an anti-Rajasthan stand and even tried to disturb this programme," he said referring to the Delhi Police decision to not permit flagging off of all the 50 trucks from the AICC Headquarters.

He also blamed BJP for playing "divisive politics by distributing Trishuls" and added that his party believed in distributing relief material to the needy.
